You want to go where?

This is what some Cameron County officials heard a couple of weeks ago and will probably hear in the upcoming months when getting their travel approved by Cameron County Commissioners Court.

Already facing a $4 million shortfall, Commissioners’ said they will scrutinize travel request that come be fore them.

At a recent meeting they went one-by-one on each travel request determining whether it was justified.

They plan to do the same at Thursday’s meeting and in upcoming meetings as well.

It will be interesting to see the county officials justify travel requests before Commissioners Court. It will be more interesting to see how many items get the “Nay” vote.
